Plenty of people have dogs or cats, of course, and some of you probably keep reptiles or insects.
As for us, what we keep at home are woodlice.
Oh, it wasn’t my idea, you know? The kids decided they wanted to keep them.
But once we actually started, I found them surprisingly interesting.
Have you ever seen what a woodlouse leaves behind after moulting? What about a baby woodlouse?
Inside that little enclosure, I’ve discovered all sorts of things you don’t often come across in everyday life.
I feel like they’ve taught me that, whatever the subject may be, if you stick with it, stay curious and actually pay attention, there’s always something new to learn.
Well, what you do with that knowledge is entirely up to you.
