About 900 metres each way. About 1,800 metres there and back.
That day my child and I ran.
Because they said, “I want to run faster.”
Because they said, “I want to train.”
That day my child and I ran.
I’m hardly athletic myself.
Yet there I was, saying things like, “Swing your arms,” and “Breathe like this.”
That day my child and I ran.
Cheered on by the older people out enjoying their walks.
Even the dogs out for their walks seemed to look at us kindly.
That day my child and I ran.
My child is full of energy. I’m sore all over.
Even moving feels like a bit of a chore, but I don’t mind.
That day my child and I ran.
