Whenever I use AI, there’s almost always that one extra thing it just didn’t need to say.
As long as that remains, I don’t think AI will ever truly surpass humans.
And this isn’t an emotional complaint.
That extra comment is simply useless.
Say I write “about 10%” as a rough estimate, right?
Then they come back with things like,
“Is that 10% factual? Readers may interpret it as a measured figure.”
Alright. Fine. I’ll be honest.
It’s a gut estimate.
Call it an eyeballed estimate if you like.
But that’s not really the point, is it?
The number itself isn’t what matters.
“Only a small fraction of the whole” is what I’m trying to say.
The “10%” is just a tool for expressing that.
Then there’s stuff like,
“If it were me, I’d do it this way.”
I don’t care!
I didn’t ask how you’d interpret it!
That’s the sort of thing you end up wanting to say.
Well… I do actually say it.
Once or twice would be one thing.
But it happens every single time.
…Is it just me?
